    SUMMARY STATEMENT:

    The Field Service Representative (FSR) reports directly to the Vertical Lift Sustainment Program Management Office (VLS PMO). The FSR will provide In-Country (Taiwan) maintenance support for our customer; Taiwan Army Aviation Depot (TAAD). The FSR will provide 240 hours of Intermediate Level Maintenance instruction for the Mission Processor (MP). OEM course content to include basic principle of operation and intermediate level test & troubleshooting.

     

    After completion of the training curriculum the FSR will provide ongoing OJT maintenance support for the remainder of the 12-month POP. The FSR is responsible to properly document the maintenance work activities in accordance with Intermediate Level Operational Maintenance Manual and instructions as provided by the Vertical Lift Sustainment Program Management Office (VLSPMO).

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    1. Ensures that safety is paramount in all endeavors while performing maintenance, repair or inspections of the Mission Processor (MP) on the APACHE AH-64E platform.
    2. Properly documents all maintenance, repair or inspection activity in accordance with the Intermediate Level (I-Level) MP Maintenance with MP Test Bench Maintenance Manuals. Ensure that all required inspection records, inspection forms, identification tags and other pertinent forms are filled out correctly prior to aircraft release.
    3. Adheres to all directions and instructions given by the Lead FSR.
    4. Keeps informed of all current instructions, procedures, methods and practices as provided by the Program Office, Maintenance and Quality department.
    5. Ensures that all utilized shop equipment and tools are calibrated, if applicable, and are in a serviceable and working condition. Breakage of tools and equipment shall be reported to the LFSR immediately for repair and/or replacement.
    6. Maintains tool control/FOD system to account for all tools after completion of assignment..
    7. Ensures that all manuals and other required technical data is current and kept in a clean and orderly manner and returned to their proper place when the work is completed or the shift terminates.
    8. Ensures the proper handling and tagging of all parts in accordance maintenance workflow.
    9. Ensures proper installation of correct replacement parts, materials and supplies needed to perform the assigned tasks. If parts or materials are not available, informs the Lead FSR for further instructions.
    10. Maintains the work areas, buildings and materials which are utilized for aircraft maintenance in a safe, clean and operative condition.
    11. Must be familiar with and adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the M7 Policy Manual.
    12. Performs other duties as required by the Lead Field Service Representative.
    13. Daily attendance is essential to this position.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION & TRAINING:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
    • 10+ years of experience in aviation repair from system to basic component level, including circuit board troubleshooting and repair.

       

    EXPERIENCE, SKILL, AND KNOWLEDGE:

    • Mechanical aptitude required.
    • Highly skilled field service technician with expertise in electronics, avionics and mechanical systems.
    • Recognized as a technical expert in avionics; consistently leveraged to design and deliver instructional courses on aircraft field service repair.
    • Avionics repair experience from system to basic component level, including circuit board troubleshooting and repair.
    • Exemplary leadership skills; proven ability to manage a diverse team of technical professionals and drive for results using influence and sound decision-making.
    • Strong Communications skills with ability to provide instructions and training for small group of support technicians.
    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills which supports the establishment of rapport and cohesion at all levels of the organization and ensures total customer satisfaction.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must attend 4-week MP (I-Level) maintenance instruction to qualify for OEM certification. 

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Office environment as well as daily exposure to flight line and hangar conditions of engine noise, riveting, dust and chemical fumes, none of which is to the extent of being intolerable. Hearing, vision and breathing protection provided in appropriate areas.
    • Some travel may be required.
    • Overtime may be required on occasion.

    PHYSICAL & MENTAL CONDITIONS:

    • Must be able to pass the Intermediate Level (I-Level) Maintenance with MP Test Bench Initial Training Course.  
    • Must be able to pass written tests as instructed by the Maintenance and Quality Departments.
    • Normal physical exertion required for periods of working on foot or standing.
    • Requires lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Requires kneeling on occasion in performance of duties.
    • Requires ability to twist, bend, squat, climb and/or other body movements to successfully accomplish the requirements of the position.
    • Requires the use of either or both hands for grasping items.
    • Manual dexterity and the ability to push/pull, i.e.: open/close file cabinets and/or handle machinery is required.
    • Requires the ability to reach above shoulder height in accomplishing job tasks.
    • Requires the ability to walk on uneven surfaces.
    • Sufficient vision required to successfully accomplish the requirements of the position.
    • Requires sustained periods of concentration.
