  • Overview

    Scope: The Sr IT Manager - Engineering plans, manages, executes, operates and oversees IT services for engineering programs including the Integrated Fixed Tower Program along portions of the Arizona border.


    • Responsible for leading the day-to-day IT operations of engineering programs including the Integrated Fixed Tower Program along portions of the Arizona border.
    • Responsible for managing IT project plan, scope, risk, and resources. 
    • Participates in the design, development and implementation of IT Infrastructure.
    • Develop and maintain plans, policies, and procedures for all project phases.
    • Participate in overall IT planning, bringing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems.
    • Participate in project specific architectural and comprehensive technology designs, solutions and implementation plans.
    • Consult in development of architectural strategy, including technology standardization, infrastructure guiding principles and modernization.
    • Evaluate risk of assigned projects. Identify roadblocks and bottlenecks to project execution and determine a course of action to eliminated or avoid them.
    • Managing, instructing, directing, and checking the work of other IT Program support staff.
    • Provides mentoring and direction to team members and is a key hands-on contributor. 
    • Manage the relationship with the ESA IT Dept. and facilitate coordination of resources across the full range of support services.
    • Works collaboratively with other disciplines as needed to meet objectives and comply with company-wide policies.
    • Positon is based in Fort Worth, Texas. Travel of approximately 20% is required and some managed staff will be out-of-state\offsite.


    Education (Highest Level Required/Preferred):

    Bachelor degree required or 5-10 years functional experience may substitute.


    Experience Required:

    Functional (Using Skill Set): 5-10 years

    Management: 1-3 years

    Must have previously been an IT Manager with hands-on experience and experience managing a staff.

    • In-depth knowledge of complex all common IT systems and architecture.
    • Strong experience managing IT projects.
    • Strong technical understanding of Microsoft server, VMWare and server & storage
    • Strong technical understanding of Cisco networking
    • Knowledge of video networking and linux preferred
    • This position requires a Secret Clearance.
