  • Overview

    Seeking a highly technical candidate with 10+ years of relevant experience working on the design, integration, and verification of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) software applicable to border security.  The candidate will apply best systems engineering practices to ensure designs are technically sound and meet the full customer requirements, can be completed on time and within budget & scope, and produce a quality product resulting in a high degree of customer satisfaction. This position is for a Staff Systems Engineer at Elbit Systems of America (ESA) in Fort Worth Texas, and requires travel to the border between the United States and Mexico ranging across multiple states.

    Responsibilities

    • Understand the software architecture and algorithms required to support C4ISR systems
    • Collaborate with the software and systems engineering teams to develop the next generation machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms for C4ISR surveillance system software applications.
    • Generate detailed written requirements definitions for machine learning and/or artificial intelligence applications
    • Translating customer derived requirements into functioning software systems
    • Work with the systems engineering team to develop C4ISR surveillance system integration and verification (I&V) plans and execute I&V plans.
    • Responsible for designing and producing test cases to validate AI/machine learning algorithms

    Qualifications

    Education:

    A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field is required. An advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, software engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.  A minimum of 10 years systems engineering experience is required.           

     

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:

    • Experience in Geophysical Signal Analysis
    • Signal processing experience with geophones, gravitometers, magnetometers, and/or SQUID
    • Experience with convolutional neural networks or spiking neural networks
    • Experience with sensor data correlation and sensor fusion
    • Experience in data science or computational science
    • Experience in data mining, big data analytics, data engineering, and/or image analysis
    • Experience with C#, C++, Python, and or Matlab
    • Ability to work independently and work as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT)
    • Ability to quickly become proficient in new areas
    • General networking knowledge required
    • General wireless communications knowledge required
    • General electro-optical and infrared camera knowledge a plus
    • General radar knowledge a plus
    • Good skills in time management, meeting facilitation, and problem-solving
    • Good communications skills: ability to clearly communicate ideas verbally and in writing
    • Good presentation skills
    • Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated DHS Background Investigation (BI)
