Overview

The Business Development Manager will report to the VP for Services Support Solutions. The position will be primarily focused on the development of CLS business opportunities and growth for the company specifically within the Department of Defense entities; US Navy, US Marine, US Air Force, US Army. Secondarily, the position will focus on the development of CLS business opportunities within Non-Department of Defense Government entities. In the context of this job description CLS services are those integrated logistic support functions, which are performed by a contractor rather than the government, that sustain the readiness of units and systems over time. Examples of CLS include contractor provided aircraft and engine maintenance, overhaul, repair and replenishment of parts, sustaining engineering, and supply chain management.

Responsibilities

Identify and develop both new and follow-on business opportunities to generate profitable growth opportunities for the business unit. Act as the primary business CLS development interface to Department of Defense entities and Non-DOD Government customers (including federal government agencies, state agencies and local municipalities). Understand the principles of Customer Relationship Management and represent ESA at trade shows and customer meetings. Must develop a strong understanding of U.S., state and local government requirements, regulations and roadmaps, then be able to develop successful capture strategies to obtain CLS contracts. Also must understand and be able to assimilate the available Elbit/ESA technology and capabilities into viable customer solutions. Prepare presentations and white papers for customers both internal and external to ESA, including DoD and non-DoD government aircraft operators and/or maintenance organizations. Will actively participate in the budget cycle and construct target lists and associated capture plans for the business unit. Lead as well as be a participant in the proposal development process.

  • State and Municipal Procurement and Requirements personnel.
  • Congressional budget planning staff.
  • ESL and ESA technical products and capabilities
  • ESA SAT engineering and modification capabilities

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred. 5-10 years functional experience may substitute.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:

  • Engineering and Technical background highly desirable.
  • Detailed knowledge of how the US Air weapons generate and complete material requirements is desired.
  • Proven track record of successful contract wins and documented business growth.
  • Will have 15-20 years experience in DOD business development or Military procurement.
  • Military or Commercial Aerospace Background required
  • Must be a team player, independent thinker, able to multi task and communicate.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to build alliances.
  • Excellent communication with interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • A strong work ethic coupled with good business sense.
  • A management styles that leads by example and the ability to serve as a team player that can focus on the business objectives of the organization.
  • Strong skills in sales and ability to be a business partner.
